Etihad Rail, a developer and operator of the national railway network of the United Arab Emirates, and Dubai Industrial City (DIC), the region’s leading manufacturing and logistics hub, have announced plans to construct an advanced freight terminal with a surface area of over 5.5 million square feet.
Dubai’s global competitiveness in manufacturing, logistics, transport, and trade will be enhanced by the new terminal, which is the result of collaboration between Etihad Rail and DIC over the past years. UAE’s industrial strategy will also be strengthened by this. UAE Railways Program aims to link the country’s manufacturing and industrial centers to facilitate trade.
The new terminal takes advantage of DIC’s proximity to Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport, which allows hundreds of companies to reach two-thirds of the world’s population within eight hours. It will improve efficiencies and reduce costs for the 780 business partners in DIC and the surrounding areas.
